Colorado Malpractice Premiums for Full Time Employed Registered Nurses
Medical malpractice claims in Colorado must be brought within two years from the date and injury should have been known but no more than three years after the event causing the injury. There are exceptions for minors (who have until their 18th birthday to bring suit) and the mentally incompetent (who have until two years from the removal of this disability). There are also exceptions for foreign objects retained during surgery and those who had their injury knowingly concealed from them.
Generally in Colorado nurses are protected from being held liable for more than their share of a verdict unless they conspired with the other negligent parties in the malpractice act.
