Kansas Malpractice Premiums for Full Time Employed Registered Nurses
Kansas has a patient compensation fund which all organizations are required to enroll in, employed nurses have coverage through their employers. The state requires that a medical malpractice claim be brought within two years after the injury becomes known but no more than four years after the treatment. Minors, those incapacitated or imprisoned have one year from their disability being removed to bring suit. Joint and Several liabilty has been removed in the state and nurses cannot be held liable for more than their share of any verdict.
