Iowa Malpractice Premiums for Full Time Employed Registered Nurses
In the state of Iowa malpractice cases must be brought within two years of the date the patient should have known of the injury but no more than six years after the date the wrongful act occurred. There are exceptions for foreign objects retained during surgery, minors (who have until their 19th birthday) and those deemed mentally ill. Iowa protects those who were under 50% liable in a case by only allowing them to be allocated their share of damages.
